VMware vVols enables data replication, snapshots, and encryption to be controlled at the VMDK level instead of the LUN level, where these data services are performed on a per VM (application level) basis from the storage array.

To view the storage container list:
Steps

Select the storage system.

Select
Storage > vVol Dashboard.

Click
Storage Containers to display the
Storage Containers list view and click a storage container to view its details.
The following properties display in the list view:
- Name—The name of the storage container
- Storage Container Type—The type of storage container, for example, SCSI or NVMe
- Storage Resources—The number of associated storage resources
- Subscribed Used (%)—The current percentage of subscribed tracks within the storage container, in relation to the limit imposed on all the storage resources within the storage container
- Subscribed Limit (GB)—The current total limit of all storage resources in GB
